The migration beings Wednesday, October 27th 2004 07:33 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Due to all the network problems we've experienced here (where the web environment is hosted) we'll be starting our migration on Saturday. Slowly we'll move all web/db/mail hosting to the same rock solid network that currently houses our game servers. There should be no noticable service interuptions to our web hosting clients, as we plan to take this slow and careful.
If you'd like to test out the other location, you can ping and trace to ruby.fragonline.net.
A few reminders for 10-25-04 Monday, October 25th 2004 12:21 AM Posted by DLinkOZ
Ok, here are two quick reminders:
We've got our shoutcast server back up after nearly a year! It's running at mail.fragonline.net. A quick status is available here
Don't forget to signup for our monthly drawing for a free server! Head over to the message board to throw you name into the hat.
More additions Thursday, October 21st 2004 08:58 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Well, not technically an addition... I've upgraded the HLStats we run here at FragOnline. This includes a pretty nice status page, as can be seen here.
New control panel Wednesday, October 20th 2004 04:55 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
We've migrated to a new control panel for our game servers. Most current customers will notice this immediately, there are 1 or 2 on a few boxes that haven't been migrated yet. This software is leaps and bounds beyond our old control panel, except for the lack of interaction with the server console (which was an excellent feature!).
Features of this new panel are:
We can add multiple logins per account for other clan members/trusted admins
Built-in file manager that allows you to rename, edit, upload and download all files
File manager also supports zip files. Select multiple files to add to a zip then download that zip, or upload a zipped file of your own and it will be decompressed on the fly into the directory you upload to!
The typical start/stop functions
Built-in rcon interface
One account (with multiple logins) can control all servers we host for you, even of different game types and on different physical machines!
If you host your site with us, I can include it in the online file manager.
If you have any questions, please feel free to click my name at the top of this news post to shoot me an email.

I reinstalled my machine at home last night, and my backup was from the previous evening and didn't include your email (my mistake). The IP you need to stream logs to is 206.123.68.220. Or email me again if you'd like.
Et tu Google? Thursday, September 23rd 2004 04:52 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
If anyone's noticed the database issues I've been having today... blame Google. Seems that the msg board has been hit very, VERY hard by Google's search bot. Normally I consider MSN's bot to be aggressive with up to 10 concurrent connections indexing my message board. BUT! Google takes the cake with well over 100 intense hard working bots searching every nook and cranny of my board. And repetatively on top of that!
In just one day Google has accounted for nearly 20k page views totalling over 200mb of data transfer... from the message board alone.

Looking for the CAL team? Saturday, August 28th 2004 01:05 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Well then, you've come to the wrong place! It's come to my attention that some group of CAL players has decided to make a Fragonline CAL team. They're using my domain name, URL et al, without my permission or consent. I just want to make it perfectly clear
WE DO NOT SPONSOR THIS TEAM
