May Maintenance

Another boring post to keep everyone informed - This weekend will see maintenance on the servers. I'll start tomorrow around 1pm CST. And while there may be slowdowns during the approximately 2 hours while I work, there should only actually be about 5 minutes of downtime and boxes are bounced.

Another month, another maintenance day

I'll be doing maintenance for April tomorrow, late morning/early afternoon. Again, there may be an hour or two of sluggishness, but an actual outage should only be for the brief periods of rebooting.

Also, sometime during the coming week I'll be upgrading my firewall hardware. So that will be another outage. I'll post a date and time when that will occur, I'm expecting well under 30 minutes total on that one.

UPDATE
Maintenance was finished this afternoon, and I went ahead and replaced the firewall. Sorry for the lack of notice, but felt it needed to be done.

March's maintenance early

I apologize to anyone affected by our slightly ahead of schedule work, but IIS was acting up so the web server needed to be rebooted. I decided that if I'm rebooting it, and scheduled maintenance is only 3 days away, I might as well knock it all out at once.

Last week's maintenance

Sorry for not posting this, but last Monday we performed routine server maintenance. Game and web servers only experienced approximately 5 minutes of actual downtime, however there may have been 1 or 2 hours of slowness in the late morning/early afternoon while we performed filesystem related activities.

For the record, we will be performing such maintenance every month on the first. It's primarily routine items related to the health and feeding of our servers, however some months may entail more activities. We'll be sure to mention anything that could adversely effect server performance both before and/or after the reboots as well as items that could potentially cause increased actual downtime.

We'll be performing maintenance on our servers Friday, December 31st. Game and web servers should only experience approximately 5 minutes of actual downtime, however there may be 1 or 2 hours of slowness in the late morning/early afternoon.

UPDATE - Maintenance is complete and everything's back in normal working order.

Migration 99% complete - mark it done!

Close enough, all that's left are a few people who haven't sent in password changes. So we're marking this move as complete. This does leave us down a server, so for at least December we'll have no free server give-away. I hope to have something in place for January, so keep your fingers crossed.

We're about 80% complete with the migration to the much better data center. All customer servers are moved and are now on our very nice web interface. Sites are all moved, however passwords will need to be reset - just shoot me an email and we'll take care of that. All I lack at this point are:

Server stats page - This will be complete when we get the linux server back up and running.
Some voice comms - I know there's one or two of these to go, just let me know if I've overlooked anyone's voice comms.
