Maintenance for November, 2007 Wednesday, October 24th 2007 09:38 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Reminder that the beginning of the month is coming up, so on Saturday November 3rd, maintenance will begin. As usual, there may be a few hours of degraded service, but only 10 minutes or so of actual down time.
While I have your attention, let me ask you this question - why isn't Bruce Campbell as wildly popular and famous as he deserves to be? The man is gold... PURE FREAKING GOLD! I wanna be like him when I grow up!

Here at FragOnline and OESM, we're extremely excited about the pending release of Fortress Forever! So we have a new HL2 server up and running, just waiting to slap the new mod on it, upon it's official release. The IP is 76.76.9.138, keep checking both this space and the server!

Upcoming MAJOR changes Wednesday, August 29th 2007 06:27 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Quick update - we're nearly completed with the procurement and deployment of our new hardware. Once that's complete, we'll begin deploying our full-fledged control panel to empower our customers to take control of their hosting. We will also bring a new domain for the hosting venture, leaving oesm.org as the shell holding entity for that and any other opportunies we pursue. Keep your ears on, same bat time, same bat channel!
Major network change Tuesday, July 31st 2007 07:12 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
There were some major network changes made this afternoon, but we've settled in rather quickly. Shoot me a message if anything is amiss. Also note - The TFC server's IP is now 76.193.19.163!!.
A few quick topics Thursday, May 31st 2007 06:54 AM Posted by DLinkOZ
The daily awards within HLStats didn't update last night, this is because the stats server is powered down at the moment. Our office is moving, and that's the location of the stats server (it updates via the VPN between the office and the data center). I apologize for the inconvenience, and as soon as the move is complete it will come back online and I'll run a manual award update. This does NOT affect the normal real-time stats that accumulate - they will continue to function as always.
Second topic is monthly maintenance. This is a reminder that the beginning of the month is coming up, so on Sunday June 3rd, maintenance will begin. As usual, there may be a few hours of degraded service, but only 10 minutes or so of actual down time.
UPDATE - The VPN is back up, and daily awards stats are functioning properly.
Maintenance for April, 2007 Tuesday, March 27th 2007 06:35 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Reminder that the beginning of the month is coming up, so on Sunday April 1st, maintenance will begin. As usual, there may be a few hours of degraded service, but only 10 minutes or so of actual down time.
Hardware upgrades complete Monday, January 29th 2007 06:18 AM Posted by DLinkOZ
The upgrades were a success, and we're now on incredibly beefy new hardware! If anyone comes across anything that's not right, don't hesitate to contact me. All passwords will have been reset, so get in touch with me and we can get it squared away.
Also something I added while I was at it - .htaccess support for password protecting directories, much like Apache provides. The format is along the lines of:
AuthName Title
AuthUserFile "path to site\private directory\.htpasswd"
Require valid-user
And within the .htpasswd file, you place your login info as normal. Please contact me for absolute file path info if you'd like to use this feature.
Schedule for webserver hardware upgrades Saturday, January 20th 2007 02:26 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
Ok everyone, we have a tentative date for the cutover. Next Saturday, January 27th, some time during the evening. What will this mean to our users and customers? You'll get a default password, and will need to email me (click my name at the top of this news post) with your username and requested password. Beyond that, it should be painless. If anything does pop up as odd, drop me an email and I'll get it sorted as quickly as possible.
Follow-up to hardware replacement Wednesday, January 17th 2007 05:01 PM Posted by DLinkOZ
I wanted to let everyone know that everything went perfectly Saturday night, and I replaced the entire box. I hadn't planned on this until the hardware upgrade in a few weeks, but it was needed to restore stability. I'll post more about the upgrade later, along with the impact to our users.
